I am always trying to improve upon my art.  There are things that I would like to create but I do not necessarily know how to get it from my head to the medium that I want to create it on.  I have a hard time with realism and I get frustrated if it does not look "real" I am not happy with it.  How does one allow themselves to let go and let it be abstract?

Inspiration

Sometimes I am inspired by so many things that it is hard to focus and create pieces of art from these inspirations.  Other times, I am blocked and cannot find inspiration to create pieces.  Then all of the sudden I see something in my mind and I get obsessed with putting it to a medium.  Recently, I have been inspired by maps.  I am working on some art encompassing maps, so I look forward to sharing this with everyone once complete.

I have always enjoyed drawing and making art.  About a year ago I submitted some artwork to be hung at the Redtree Art Gallery in Oakley.  Here are some of the pieces that I had recently at the the 5 x 5 show where all pieces had to be 5 x 5 inches or smaller.  None of these pieces sold but the pieces I had in previous shows have sold.  I made these with drawing the graphic portions and then inlaying wood pieces around them to give a 3D effect.

I enjoy having the change to show my work and it is really flattering when other people buy your work.

I am going to be working on some new pieces for the next show which is Birds, Bees and Trees.
